2 Car Garage Floors

In November 2023, we completed this concrete coating project in Fredericksburg, VA. Our team expertly applied a durable polyurea coating to a residential two-car garage, including the floor, a three-step stairway, and the sidewalls.

The garage’s concrete was fundamentally sound, with minimal cracking but marred by various stains, particularly notable tire marks. These stains highlight concrete’s vulnerability, especially under the weight of parked vehicles. In such cases, conventional epoxy or paint coatings often fail, succumbing to the pressure and adhering to heavy objects. However, our choice of polyurea coating not only masks these imperfections but also ensures long-term durability and ease of maintenance.

The project’s finishing touches included the use of a smoke flake color scheme that, when combined with the white molding and off-white walls, transformed the garage into a more inviting and homey space. This upgrade not only enhances the garage’s appearance but also promises easy cleaning and maintenance for LIFETIME thanks to our warranty.

Fire Department Industrial Coating in Fredericksburg

In late November 2023, we successfully completed a specialized concrete coating project at a fire station located at 1316 Depot Ln in Fredericksburg, VA. This commercial/industrial endeavor involved the application of a solid color polyurea concrete coating, tailored to the high-traffic needs of the fire station.

Our team took great care in preparing the concrete surface, repairing cracks, and removing stains to ensure a flawless finish.

The choice of polyurea for this project was strategic. Known for its exceptional durability and protective qualities, polyurea is ideal for demanding environments like a fire station. The project’s scope required us to work in stages, carefully managing each phase to minimize disruption to the station’s critical operations.

By prioritizing both functionality and aesthetics, our coating solution not only revitalized the space but also equipped it to withstand the rigors of emergency response work. This project stands as a testament to our commitment to delivering high-quality, practical, and durable solutions for commercial and industrial spaces.

Affogato Europa Cafe – Commercial Concrete Coating

Our team recently completed a comprehensive commercial concrete coating project at the “Affogato Europa Cafe,” coffee shop located in Chancellor Center at 4125 Plank Rd, Fredericksburg, VA 22407. This venture involved applying a polyurea coating throughout the cafe, encompassing the customer area, service sections, and bathrooms, ensuring a uniform and durable finish across all spaces.

A standout feature of this project was the incorporation of the cafe’s custom logo into the coating. This bespoke element adds a unique touch that resonates with the cafe’s brand and ambiance. In choosing the “Mount Everest” flake color finish, we aimed to complement the cafe’s existing color palette, which features an elegant blend of white, tan, and gold in its wall paint and decorative fixtures. The flake composition, a balanced mix of white, light grey, tan, and darker grey, harmoniously aligns with the cafe’s aesthetic.

This cafe now boasts a refreshed and robust flooring that not only enhances its visual appeal but also promises lasting durability. This transformation stands as a testament to our commitment to delivering customized, high-quality flooring solutions that meet both the functional and aesthetic needs of our clients.

Polyurea vs Epoxy

Although epoxy offers initial cost savings, polyurea is better choice in terms of overall performance and long-term cost-effectiveness, owing to its durability and lower maintenance requirements. The decision between epoxy and polyurea ultimately hinges on your needs. Go with polyurea if want a long-lasting, durable coating with minimal upkeep. Alternatively, if you’re pursuing a shorter-term solution or operating on a tighter budget – epoxy might suit your needs. For those with the requisite skills and time, a DIY approach could also be considered.

Polyurea Cost

Typically, the cost of materials and labor varies, averaging around $6.50 per square foot for larger areas like 900 square feet, and going up to $9.00 per square foot for smaller spaces of around 300 square feet.

Frequently Asked Questions

We are always here for our customers, if you have a question about concrete coatings not answered in the FAQ below you can ask us by phone or email, or by filling out our contact form.

Polyurea and epoxy are both used for coating concrete, but they’re quite different. Polyurea is stronger and lasts longer, about 15 years, compared to epoxy’s 3-5 years. It bonds deeply with concrete, making it less likely to chip or peel. Epoxy, while protective, just sits on the surface and can wear out faster, especially with heat and sunlight. When applying polyurea, the surface needs more preparation, but this makes it more durable. In simple terms, polyurea is like a stronger, longer-lasting protective layer for your concrete surfaces. It is always a good idea to consult your HOA regarding rules about painting or installing coatings in outdoor areas visible from the outside. Typically, this would only apply to driveway and sidewalk coatings. We advise you to check with your HOA, review their documentation, and see whether there is any mention of concrete coatings. If there isn’t, you should be clear to have your coating installed.

Epoxy and some other polyurea coatings can only be installed during warmer months of the year. But, our polyurea coating can be installed year-round even in winter, and still only takes a day for installation.
