This project focused on applying a concrete coating to a residential garage floor located in Bumpass, VA, near the charming Hanover area. The project was completed on March 13, 2024. The chosen color for the project was ‘pebble beach’ chip flake, significantly enhancing the aesthetic of the garage floor.
Instead of traditional epoxy, this project utilized a polyaspartic, polyurea coating known for its durability and fast curing time. The concrete was initially in fair condition, showing typical signs of wear and possessing a few minor cracks.
These slight imperfections were promptly addressed by repairing the cracks and polishing the concrete to ensure the surface was in the best condition for coating. This successful project added another satisfied homeowner to our portfolio in Bumpass, VA, providing them with a beautifully enhanced garage floor.
Although epoxy offers initial cost savings, polyurea is better choice in terms of overall performance and long-term cost-effectiveness, owing to its durability and lower maintenance requirements. The decision between epoxy and polyurea ultimately hinges on your needs. Go with polyurea if want a long-lasting, durable coating with minimal upkeep. Alternatively, if you’re pursuing a shorter-term solution or operating on a tighter budget – epoxy might suit your needs. If there isn’t, you should be clear to have your coating installed.
